For those unaware of the artists, Hybrid Minds are a British duo, Josh White and Matthew Lowe, specialising in Drum & Bass. Their previous aliases are Sensa & Haste, which was the original name on their 2011 hit, ‘The Place’. They’ve continued with a stream of steady releases since then. Their second album ‘Elements’ charted at number 14 in the Official Dance Album chart, but in April 2024 they received a well deserved number 1 spot in the same chart with ‘Tides’. I remember seeing them at Parklife festival in Manchester and they blew the roof off. These guys have been around for well over a decade, playing shows every week all over the world.

LYVIA is a Nottingham born singer/songwriter who is blowing up online and beyond, with her 2023 hit ‘Trippin’ amassing over 6 millions plays on Spotify, whilst getting picked up by Uber and published on an advert with them. Her candid, busking-like performances on Maid Marion Way, mug of tea in-hand, have seen her music reach new heights over the last couple of years, with absolutely no sign of slowing down.

Hybrid Minds are no strangers to working with vocalists and this track is another shining example of that. LYVIA brings her signature soft, yet powerful voice to a euphoric amen break backed stomper, a match made in heaven. Proper hands-in-the-air, reaching-for-the-lasers type stuff. The 3 of them teased the track at Manchester's Warehouse Project at the back-end of 2024 and it's been hotly anticipated since then, for good reason.

I have no doubt that there are huge things in-store for LYVIA in 2025 following the release of her debut EP - 'Maid Marian Way' last year, also having just come off the back of a sold out U.K tour, featuring on AREA BOYZ (@nsg_music)’s album (out Feb 7th), and being announced as the support act for Tinache’s World Tour. This artist is definitely one to watch.
